Kena Vernon, On-Air Broadcaster

Kena Vernon is a Weather News Field Reporter for AccuWeather Network, reporting on major weather events and how it effects on people in the surrounding areas.  

She is a native New Yorker and graduate of Hofstra University. Before joining AccuWeather, Kena began or her career as a Reporter/Fill-in Anchor for WICZ-TV in Binghamton, New York. Later she worked for Newswatch 16 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and just prior to joining AccuWeather she was a reporter for News 12 in Brooklyn, where she did extensive coverage on Superstorm Sandy.

During her journalism career, Kena has interviewed Vice President Joe Biden, Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Kena is an avid runner, and recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by completing the 2017 New York City Marathon.  She enjoys being on the go and has traveled around the world, including Africa, the Caribbean, Central America, and Europe.
